    Our Academic Team

    Dubai Carmel School believes in recruiting the cream of the society as its team members. To strengthen its vision and belief the Carmelian Team consists of highly educated, intrinsically motivated, truly dedicated and skilled professionals.  D.C.S. offers a diversity of subjects at Primary, Secondary and IGCSE Levels which are taken care of by visionary and endowed heads of the Departments.

    Ms. Suzan Mahmood, the Acting Vice Principal of D.C.S.heads the Arabic Department. She ensures high standards of pedagogic activities in the Arabic Department and makes certain that all prime skills and sub skills of the language are taught meticulously. As Vice Principal she contributes towards smoother functioning of the institution.

    Mr. Wasif Kizilbash, is our IGCSE Coordinator and Curriculum Head. He is a seasoned teacher with years long of sound and first hand work experience. He is a visionary leader and has restructured complete curriculum of the school and licensed the school to become a Cambridge International School. He has enriched, balanced and widened the school curriculum as per the requirements of 21st century. He is also the examination officer for all external examinations and is responsible for all official correspondence with British Council and Cambridge Board.

    Mrs. Laila Khwaja  is the Academic Coordinator of the school.She is responsible for the timely and systematic execution of the academic activities of the school; arrange professional development training and seminars for teachers. She also circulates new instructions of the management, manages school’s time table and examination schedule. She has been working in the same capacity for last 5 years and has introduced very effective and sound changes which have contributed to the development of the school and promotion of its vision and mission.

    Ms. Fatima Afroze  has more than 20 years experience in the field of education. She has been instrumental in developing the school action  plan and implementing it.  Currently she is working on analysis of student assessment data to ensure the highest standards of learning among students. She is also the head of department of science and expert in classroom  teaching.

    Mr. Anas Alhamad is the Head of the Islamic Department guarantees the promotion of true Islamic Culture on the campus and inculcates Islamic values and etiquette in students. He takes care of timely and proper execution of teaching- learning activities of the department and promises that the subject content is properly conveyed, executed and administered in the classes.

    Mr. Zahid Ali Faqeer Muhammad is the Head of  English Department. He is MOE certified teacher to teach secondary classes. He is also certified examiner to conduct Internal Oral Assessments on behalf of Cambridge Board.  He uses his professional qualification and teaching experience to lead the English Department effectively which has resulted to generate smooth Teaching – Learning environment. He guarantees timely and refined skills development of the students in English Language. To achieve his goals, he arranges many co-curricular activities to create real life learning environment for the students of English language.

    Ms. Asma Nisar is the Head of English  Primary (Grade 1-4) . She is a competent teacher and has profound experience of teaching and management in British Curriculum Schools. She works effectively and systematically. She is the advocate of change and the same is reflected in her work and department.

    Ms. Fatma Afroze  is the Head of our Science Department, works hard to make science fun for children. She arranges Science programs to teach the kids Science in fun and different ways. She makes sure that science is taught through practical application.

    Mr. Muhammad Afzal Abbasi  is Head of Mathematics Department for Grade 1 to 12. He is working in the field of education for the past 20 years and has a sound background of delivering British curriculum besides the experience of American Curriculum (Common Core States Standards). Being an experienced subject leader he is well aware of the latest educational tools and strategies for teaching and learning.Creating a culture of creativity, independent learning, use of modern technology (ICT), problem solving and application of mathematical concepts in real life is a very essential and integral part of classroom teaching today. His aim is to strengthen and enrich the skills of the teachers through coordination, collaboration and guidance in order to help the learners to develop 21st century learning skills that would enable them to cope up with the challenges in real life.

    Ms.Fatima Saad is the Head of the Art Department. She tries to fill colours in the life sketch of the students through her painting, drawing, model making and designing skills. She makes her students fall in love with art. She keeps the art projects fun and easy for the kids. She tries her best to make the projects the most entertaining and fun for the kids she also makes sure that the result is something beautiful.

    Mrs. Lina Abdullah and Mr. Amro Mostafa are the Heads of the PE section.  They organize the sport events at DCS. They care the most about the health, hygiene and fitness of our students and teach them exercises and games that suitable for their age group and physical health. They also teach them about the rules and regulations of different games. They induce sports man spirit in our students.

    Ms. Sarwat Hassan is the Career Counselor for high school students at DCS. She believes that counseling students is working with an array of different gemstone. Good listening skills, empathy, flexible counselling hours helps to unlock the potential of High School Students. She organizes various Educational trips, seminar modules, Career fair for High School students to enable them to make informed decisions relating their future. Currently she is undergoing a certification program in counseling at the British Council.
